My Friend's Testimony
*This is the story of my friend's, Shannon, walk accepting the free gift of freedom*
I was saved July 10,2010, late that night. After photographing my girlfriend's wedding earlier that day,I knew what I had been missing from my life. In talking with a Christian friend later that evening, he realized I needed Jesus Christ and he knew just where to take me; it was to his neighbor's house. The neighbor, was the Pastor that had officiated my girlfriend's wedding earlier that day!
The Pastor welcomed me into his home at 11:30pm, sat me down and began to talk to me. We talked for a little while and next the Pastor explained salvation to me. I knew in my heart this is what I had needed all those years I felt empty.
I prayed my silent sinners prayer. As I bowed my head, tears streamed down my face. My prayer went something like this "God I know I've sinned and I have to confess all of them. So here it comes. I hope you can keep up!" Then all my past transgressions flashed through my head like a movie on fast forward.
All the while I ws crying and sobbing. After some time passed, my sobs turned to laughter and I knew I was saved. As I walked back to my friend's house afterward. I felt as if I was walking on air. And my life has been truly blessed ever since.
Shannon accepted the free gift of salvation. This gift is being offered to you too, follow my friend Shannon's decision to accept Jesus Christ into your heart and see your life change.

Life of an Empty Building.
First goes up with excitement, can't wait with anticipation to find out what is going up; new birth of the unknown. Then it all formed and constructed with every detail and the markings on the walls, the signs, and even the inside now shows that it is store. This store is full of new items, new shelves, new life.
But as the years pass by, it is broken down, beat up, it begins to change and the new life it once had has been defiled and changed. Now months later, the building is abandoned, lifeless, empty.
Isn't that the way it is with us?
We are born and given a new life, new and exciting things take place, then as the years pass by we get filled with negativity, we are broken down, beaten up, and we start thinking less of ourselves. We start to find something new to change us and make us feel better.
But the opposite happens, we become like that old building left empty, abandoned, and lifeless. We need a change, we need something new.
I have something new to offer to you and it's a gift. Now it is not going to do you any good if you don't accept it. So imagine you have your hand out and I have a nice looking box, wrapped and shiny looking with a bow. Here it is..
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace through faith you are saved through faith and not of yourself, it is the GIFT of God, not of works so you cannot boast."
John 10:28 "I GIVE unto them eternal life and they shall never perish."
Romans 6:23"For the wages of sin are death; but the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Jesus says we are to be perfect like our Father in heaven, but we know no one is perfect.
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
I John 1:8-9 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us...."
Romans 10:13 "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Jesus is knocking at your door, he is offering this GIFT to you. Open your heart and let him in to love you where you are at and to give you a new life.
Receive your gift today - it's a free gift. Change your empty building for a new life today.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
My child, My precious child. I adore you. In fact, I can't get enough of you. You light up My world.
You bring joy to My heart. You are precious and honored
and I love you. With an everlasting love I have loved you.
I think of you day and night. You are always on My mind and in My heart.
I long for you. You have captured My heart.
You have filled My heart to overflowing.
My child, the romance with you began even before You were born. I created you and knew you in your mother's womb and I knew then I wanted you to be Mine forever. Your image and your name are engraved permanently in the palm of My hand.
You cannot get way from Me.
If you go the Deepest ocean, I am there.
If you go to the Highest mountain, I am there.
Nothing will ever separate you from My love.
So dear, sweet one, today on this special day of love,
I ask that "YOU BE MINE-BE MY VALENTINE!"
I promise to love you and care for you
all the days of your life and then on into eternity.
We were meant to be together forever and ever.
I love you, My Valentine.

Helping Others?
When helping someone tires you out, wears you down, and frustrates you, when do you say "enough is enough?"
Is it selfish to want to take care of yourself? Is it selfish to change your hang out places and people because you want a change in your own life?
These are questions I've asked myself lately. God calls his prayer warriors, disciples, ministers, and faithful followers to help others, love others, and edify others. I don't know how doctors, ministers, pastors, disciples and faithful followers do it, but I sure have a lot of respect for them. I salute you in the biggest way I know how; thank you!
I know it's up to us, the Christians, to plant the seeds and allow God to water them and nurture them. I know the growth is going to happen when God says it is going to happen. SO, if I know this to be truth, why is it so hard to walk through?
I want to share with you what I have learned recently. God is in control no matter what I say or do to help people in their lives. I have to let go of the situation and get out of the way so God can move in a mightier way than I could ever imagine.
I have learned that it is on my knees I need to be and allow God to take care of the other people in my life.
I know we all have people in our lives that are struggling, being ignorant about their decisions they will make or made, or maybe they are being negative instead of positive. We (you and I) want more for them than they want for themselves. You know, it's only going to hurt you and me more then them?
It happened to me. It hurt me and my relationships with others and with my daily responsibilites.
This was my sin and I confess it you. I wanted to sit on the throne and wanted to be God. What I recognize now is that I am not God and I am not in control. WOW! That was a load off of my shoulders.
My next step is to take care of me, Marjorie. I am going to eat right, which I didnt' do. I am going to get the right amount of sleep and read more, which I was reading less. I am going to do what makes me happy. The Lord says "Happy are the peacemakers." Well I have to have peace with myself before I can have peace with others in my relationships.
SO, where are you at in helping others? Are you tired and worn out? Are you ready to give up the throne and put God back on top? Are you ready to really care about yourself more and others at arms length?
The next question that comes to my mind is...Are we stumping others growth by being too much available to them? If so, maybe this is another reason to back off and learn to say "NO, I cannot do that." Maybe it's another reason to say "NO, I am out of resources to help you." or "NO, I am tired and have no more energy to help you."
I always thought the word "NO" was a negative but it's not. In this case of replenishment the word "NO" is a positive and I am going to positively use it.
I hope you will do the same. May your day be filled with a spiritual replenishment today. May your head hit the pillow tonight with peace knowing you made a good decision to say "NO" at something today.
I think I will take Jesus' advise and go to a quiet place where there is noone else around and HONESTLY sit with him and pour my heart to him. then I can say
"Yes Lord I am available to you and thank you for allowing me to rest in your strength, wisdom, and knowledge. I am ready for my next assignment."
I hope this will help you like it helped me,
Marjorie

Celebrate Life: Isn't Always Easy
I get to celebrate the day God brought me into this world, but I am going to celebrate it today. Why you ask? My birthday wish is for YOU! I wish you a year of goodness and happiness and in your sadness that you will turn your eyes to heaven. I wish you will allow yourself the chance to be positive in the negative, and change from the inside out. Celebrate Life!
There was a day when I didn't want to celebrate life, but end my life. There were many times I was cold, lonely, and dark . Sometimes, I want to forget about those day, but I am reminded of it when I hear of others suffering and want to end their life too.
I use to think "it's only going to get worse instead of better." When I wanted to end my life I was without a job which meant no income, meant no payment to my rent, and other things I owed.
I would take a ride to our riverfront here and contemplate driving my car into the water or jumping in into the the water which looked like a black hole. I was in a black hole already, it just seamed logical to me, to stay in it and drown the world and my troubles out. I also attempted to end my life by swallowing a bunch of pills and followed it with a whole bottle of wine. I knew in any minute my life was going to be over.
I had the guts to finish my life, but (apparently) I was saved from it. I struggled between the good thoughts and the bad ones. I had friends in my life speaking good things to me, but I wasn't believing the good stuff of what I heard them say.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers
of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
It takes believing the good comments people said about me that helped me to get out of my pit.
Also when I changed my stinking thinking to to the good comments and believing what God said about me; my life began to change for the better.
When someone gives you a card, a birthday card, a thank you card, a valentine's card, what do you do with it? I use to throw mine away. Now, I keep them up on a shelf to admire it for a while, then I put them in a card box and keep them. When I feel lonely, frustrated, sad, or whatever emotion might try to take over, I will read a card or two and believe what it says about me. What they say about me.
I hope you will begin to make a card box or an encouraging box; maybe even write down when people make nice comments to you and at the end of the day, read them out loud to yourself. It will help you to change that stinking thinking and you will one day be an encourager to someone else or at least know how to build yourself up.
I don't know if you have some stinking thinking going on or you may know someone who does. I encourage you to stop by a floral shop and smell the flowers and think of a good place. I suggest, stopping by and seeing a friend, say to them "I am hurting" and let them talk to you and build you up.
When a person breaks or sprangs their foot, they usually need crutches. Let someone else be your crutch when you feel like your broken or bruised; that's why you have friends, teachers, mates, pastors, deacons, and even dogs.
Let me know if I can help you. I want to help you or your friend.
** There are good people around us that are willing to help us change our stinking thinking for little to no cost to you. There are great recovery groups in the area that will help you with your hurt, habit, or hang up.
