Role Models Today

Moses knew he would not be entering the land that God has prepared and promised to the children of Israel because of his disobedience to God. However, instead of acting like a spoiled child not getting his way or walking away from his leadership role, Moses took this opportunity to travel with the children and prepare them for their new life in their inherited land.  In today's world we lack good role models; do we not?
What kind of person do you want to be? Do you want to leave a legacy? What is your legacy today? What will people say after you are gone?
Were you dependable? Were you a person of your word? Were you a teacher or a student? a leader or a follower? Bad tempered or peaceful? Loving or hateful?
A year ago, August 19th, I attended my father's funeral.  I am reflecting the words of our attendees and my father was good role model.  He had left a good legacy.
I too want to strive to leave something worth talking about in a  good manner, like we do with Moses and my father. I want for people to say "when you met Marjorie, you saw Jesus."  "Marjorie was a leader of people and student too." I want Father God to say "well done, good and faithful servant." I want to leave the Gospel of Jesus Christ to my children and for them to enter into the land of their inheritance.

~How about you?
