Story of Salvation

I work with young adults (17 and 18 year old) and when they come to join us as interns we ask for their salvation story. Some of the stories are short, some are long, and some we have one on one discussions with to make sure they have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord over their lives. It is our mission to fill the mansion Jesus is preparing for us.
One of our interns had a story that I thought was worth sharing and I received permission to share it with  you.

"When I was very young, both my parents made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ.  At my young age I didn't fully understand the depth of Christianity and how it pertained to me.  When I was ten, I began to question my parents about all that Jesus had done for me.  My parents were never pushy, but always gentle and patient with my many questions.  I gave my life to Christ on January thirtieth, seven years ago, while taking a shower.  I was really excited and so were my parents! I'm thankful that I can remember that day so clearly, and hope to do so always."

After I read this I thought "wow, what a testimony." Here is a person that didn't accept Christ because the parents did, didn't wait until salvation was understood, but had a little talk with Jesus while in the shower. Now I call this being intimate with Christ! I recently encouraged my Bible study ladies to get intimate with God and find out what kind of relationship He wanted with them, have a dialogue with Him instead of just doing all the talking.  Here is a 17 year old that did just that and asked the Lord into their life.
I also told my sisters in Christ that if you think God doesn't see you when you get undressed, before and after you are undressed, you are wrong.  He knows  the very number of hairs on your head, do you really think He doesn't know every mark, every freckle, or every hair on your body all together? Come one this is the Creator of the Universe we're talking about!
So, when was the last time YOU got intimate with Christ? When was the last time you had a dialogue with Him?

Maybe you never have taken the opportunity to talk with the Creator because you thought you weren't good enough, worthy enough, or even smart enough to talk to Him.  Please don't think you can't talk to Him. He wants to hear from you, he loves your voice, and desires to hear from you.  Come on, get in a quiet place and just start talking to Him.
I promise you won't surprise Him with anything you have to say, he won't judge you, and he won't say you are saying stupid things. No, He will listen and then give Him the opportunity to reply. It will be in a still small voice, but if you are quiet you will hear from Him.   If you don't hear anything, keep talking anyways and then be still and know He heard you. You just might hear him as you relax and wait.

~ Enjoy,
Marjorie
