I was woken up Waaay before my alarm was set to go off by my 4yr old Terrier, Sadie Mae. She stretched herself on me; was filled with anticipation as she panted and breathed hard. Next, she began to pace back and forth on the bed. I thought she needed some outdoor relief, so I got up and prepared to take her outside but her demeanor changed to a quiet and calm attitude, yet she was still panting rather deep. I thought maybe she needed some water and was feeling sick, so I got up to check her water bowl; it was full.
My next thought was maybe she just wanted some quality time with her mom, but she could have waited a few more hours for that and I would have been more than happy.
She began to calm down and I was just about to go back to sleep when I heard in the still of the darkness. Her stomach was growling...loud in the silence.
Now you might be giggling at this moment, but now think about this for just a moment.
What does God sometimes want from us? Our Attention.
What does God do to get our attention? Stirs things up a bit in our lives, wakes us up a lot earlier than our clock alarm is set at, and just when He has our attention, the reasons why we just went through our circumstances becomes all too clear.
Funny how God used a little four legged animal to get my attention to His lesson.
Now I am giggling.
